For a sample of topics, click Trainings Join us at the following speaking engagements in 2006-2007: January 30th, 2008 Barbara Doyle will do a full day pre-conference workshop on 01/30/2008 - 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Lynette Strode and Eric Guidish from the Illinois Assistive Technology Program will co-present with Barbara. This workshop teaches participants to identify many types of assistive technology to promote safety, participation, communication and belonging for children and adults with autism spectrum disorders. It focuses on “no-tech, low tech” things available in homes, schools and work places that are able to be purchased at low cost. Professional staff and family members will learn creative strategies for identifying and meeting the technology needs of people with ASD across the lifetime and across environments. Resources for learning about assistive technology and funding technology purchases will be shared. Some items will be on display for participants to see, touch and try.
