Welcome to BarbaraDoyle.com Hello everyone! Happy 2012! There have been many changes in my life recently including a move to our new home. My husband Ed and I have relocated to Orland Park, Illinois. We wanted to be closer to family and lifelong friends. I will be focusing on projects in the metro-Chicago area in particular, this year. I continue to travel nationally and internationally and want to do more conferences and training this year with my messages of practical strategies that lead to lifelong success for everyone on the autism spectrum. As always, my services include technical assistance, training, presentations, and consultation to child or adult programs, educational staff, therapists, mental health professionals, the child welfare system, universities, families and organizations. One special focus in 2012 is providing more supports to children and adults on the autism spectrum who are also deaf or hard of hearing. Autism with hearing impairment is challenging, but over the years I have developed effective strategies for learning, teaching, supporting and improving communication for this group. My ideas are appropriate for school/educational staff, families, adult services providers, teacher training programs, mental health programs, and schools for the deaf. If you have an interest, let me know. I will be working on more handouts and informational papers for this population this year so check back often for new information and ideas. Please check my Upcoming Events page to learn more about training events that you may want to attend. Remember that all material on the Helpful Handouts pages is free. Print, copy, and share as you wish. Thank you for visiting this web site and please come back soon!
